We all know our family car, but how well does it know us?
Two parents, a 12-year-old daughter and an 18-year-old newly qualified driver. Each of them has different needs. PnD3 brings them all under one roof.

Philipp Mayer and his wife have two children. Their 12-year-old daughter constantly forgets her headphones in the car, and their 18-year-old son just wants to spend every free minute driving. All of the family members want easy access to the vehicle, without always having to look for the car key. It couldn’t be any easier than with a smart device.
Goto first page
With PnD3, the vehicle recognises the user and responds to his or her needs. The daughter can open the car, grab her headphones or wait comfortably in the back seat for the rest of the family. But with her authorisation, she cannot start the engine. The son can go for a ride – but only at a maximum of 60 mph because his parents have set the speed limit with PnD3.

For Philipp Mayer's wife, all of her personal car settings are automatically activated as soon as she steps up to the vehicle. No one wants to readjust the mirror or the seat every time. Forgotten your cell phone? Nostalgic? No problem! We also supply a 'Keyless Go' key. But how is all this technically possible?

Combining advanced ultra-wideband (UWB), near-field communication (NFC) and Bluetooth (BLE) communication and location technologies, PnD3 locates and detects each individual device very precisely. The car detects the smart device, such as a smartphone or smartwatch, from a distance of 150 metres.

When the driver gets closer to the vehicle, the car welcomes him or her with welcome lights from a distance of ten metres.
Goto first page
At a proximity of about two metres, the car unlocks the driver's door by itself and has already activated the personal settings.

Mr. Car – my settings, please. Individual settings such as the correct seat position, the distance to the steering wheel and the mirrors are set automatically by the car, thanks to PnD3. Personally and individually. When the driver changes, the system adjusts accordingly – maximum comfort for different users. Just get in and drive off.

2022 and you're still drowning in a sea of papers? PnD3 is coming to rescue you.
A fleet with tens of vehicles, employees all over the world and a central administration – this is Simon Bender's job as the fleet manager of his company. PnD3 makes this job much more enjoyable. We'll show you how.
Goto first page
Simon Bender's job as a fleet manager is varied, interesting – and stressful: optimising routes and costs, coordinating employee vehicles, meeting customer deadlines, preventing misuse or theft of equipment, and, on top of that, a huge amount of invoicing paperwork. His life would be so much easier if there was a digital solution to all these challenges. Spoiler alert! It already exists: PnD3.
Goto first page
No more jingling, no more looking for keys in a full handbag, no more losing keys. Simon Bender shares digital keys with one click with new employees abroad – and locks them immediately if the smart device gets lost. He doesn't miss the physical key management he used to have. Nevertheless, fleet managers don't have to worry about forgetting anything because they can see all the important key figures at a glance by looking at the digital logbook. But how is PnD3 installed in vehicles?
Goto first page
PnD3 is designed to be modular. For cost-effective differentiation, in addition to the standard configuration, the number of UWB modules is variable and the provision of NFC and BLE can also be selected. Depending on the vehicle category and usage aspects, different numbers of hardware components are installed in the vehicle, from basic to premium class. And PnD3's software solution can also be adapted to the corporate designs of car manufacturers.
Goto first page
High-performance UWB modules are installed in every equipment package and coordinated by a central module. Marquardt's unique S3 door-handle sensor system completes the range of intelligent access components and won't let you down, even in wet or icy conditions. Car manufacturers decide for themselves which equipment packages are the perfect match for their vehicles and customers.

The central control unit coordinates all of the other installed UWB and BLE modules. Using artificial intelligence based on a neural network, the exact position of the smart device is determined. To calculate the location, this so-called triangulation superimposes various measurements based on physical parameters, such as the speed of light. The modules communicate with each other and with the smart device. Then they give commands to the vehicle for specific reactions: adjust the seats, turn up the heat and open the front doors.

Anywhere, any time, and uncomplicated: urban people don't want compromises – they want full flexibility. This includes, for example, sharing a car with neighbours or friends. Using a car-sharing vehicle or even renting a car for a longer trip. New technologies, progressive mobility concepts and the conscious use of resources are part of everyday life for such customers. Car manufacturers need to keep these changing demands in mind. PnD3 helps them to do just that.

Jasmin Malek travels a lot for business and pleasure. She doesn't need her car every day, so she shares it with two friends. Nevertheless, it is important to her that everyone pays their share of the costs for the car. For her job, she needs a rental car every now and then, and in other cities she uses car-sharing providers. Jasmin Malek depends on flexibility. And when the postman comes, she's not usually home.
Goto first page
PnD3 is made for people like this: sharing keys and tracking who drove how much. Use a rental car or car-sharing vehicle when it's the best option. Use valet parking or conveniently drop off the car at the nearest garage without handing over the physical key. Simply share the digital key with one click. Even to the parcel delivery person, who is allowed to open the boot. And only the boot. PnD3 is ideal for Jasmin Malek's lifestyle. As individual as she is, she can use PnD3 in her everyday life.
Goto first page
All these uses are only possible because PnD3 is very secure. But how is this security achieved?
Goto first page
The core is the new UWB technology in accordance with the Car Connectivity Consortium Standard (CCC), which has been supported by Apple and other smartphone manufacturers since 2019. It enables the cyber-secure storage of the digital vehicle key in the smartphone – and opens up completely new possibilities in combination with precise UWB driver localisation.
Goto first page
The integration of UWB, NFC and BLE communication and location technologies with the PnD3 components in the vehicle make Marquardt's solution unique. Using the speed of light for localisation prevents location tampering: a new level of theft protection. Security is also essential when it comes to family use. The engine can only be started if a smart device with driving authorisation is located in the vehicle. The perfect child safety device – when the kids can't get their hands on a parent's smartphone.
